My client, London's leading Investment bank, is now looking for a senior developer to design, develop, enhance, and maintain Market Risk applications.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on various different projects within the market risk team. This team is mainly built of Java applications, but they have a MS stack in place for a few things and they are moving in this direction.

You should come from a highly numerate background and are probably working in a heavily technical role and using and manipulating large data sets. You will be a technologist at heart but it goes without saying that you will be able to display a keen interest in the financial markets and latest technologies.

This is challenging role that will push you and lead you in to new levels of professional development - the manager is keen to allow the candidate to be involved in every aspect of the project from requirements and design, to implementation, testing and delivery.

Although this is a technically challenging role within a leading Investment Bank, truly exceptional candidates from outside of the industry will be considered provided they have 1-3 years of development experience and the ability the work under pressure within a challenging environment. The ideal candidate will hold a 2:1 or above numerical Degree from a leading University. In return, you will be working for a genuine market leader in the financial trading space with a truly global presence.

Essential

*Exposure to VBA (Excel) and COM programming (in VB and/or C++)

*Experience in to designing and developing SSIS packages

*Sybase

*Exposure to RDBMS - specifically writing SQLs, stored procedures, triggers, optimising SQLs, creating tables and indexes

*Knowledge of OOPS

*.NET architecture

*C# / VB.NET

*ADO

*XML / XSL

*Python / Perl / Ruby

Other

*ETL tools and BI tools

*Excellent communication skills

*Self Motivated, flexible and innovative

*Establish and maintain effective working relationships

The environment is relaxed, yet technically exceptional with a strong close knit team ethos. Remuneration is largely unrivalled for particularly relevant candidates whilst my client's investment in their employee's careers incorporates exceptional ongoing training and a meritocratic culture.
