Senior Network Design Engineer - Logical Design and Delivery Support - CCNA / CCNP

Highly innovative multi-play communications leader with a unique branding and capability seek a Senior Network Design Engineer within their Core Network Engineering Division. You will be responsible for produce the detail necessary to enable various internal teams to implement and effectively integrate all new Network elements and services, ensuring that all designs meet all specified requirements whilst remaining in conformance with established architectural guidelines.
Specific duties : Assist in the assessment of new architectural designs and then verify network solutions using design tools and test equipment
To have a full understanding of all network elements and impact of failure or change
To interface directly with other groups within Network Engineering and various Business Units at an equal Level
Recommendation and control of new projects (business and technical evaluation)
Liase with relevant departments in order to complete required Data Design activities
Maintain detailed design records of the data network throughout the lifecycle from initial design to as built and ongoing in operation
Liase closely with the Architecture team to ensure that design's are produced in accordance with their guidelines
Produce low-level design documentation of the highest standard (based on Archictecture High Level docs)
Work within a dynamic team environment as well as on own initiative and ability to deputise in lieu of Principle Engineer
Excellent inter-personal skills including communication and relationship skills to establish effective interfaces
Flexible and innovative approach to solutions, whilst maintaining personal effectiveness
To be responsible for originating, maintaining and updating associated database information
To provide guidance to junior members in relation to technical and personnel development
Detail all key tasks, duties and responsibilities that this role is accountable for. Identify any key outputs and/ or activities/ deliverables
Min of 3 years working in Network Design/ Support role.·
Extensive experience of ISP/ Telecommunications networks, Voice and Core Data.
Reasonable knowledge of ISP/ Telco products and services i.e. Mass Dial, Cable, DSL
Min certification to CCNP Routing & Switching. Certifications in other areas, such as CCIP or WAN Switching/ Security would be advantageous
Delivery focus ie able to deliver to tight timescales
Knowledge of technical implementation of IT platform deployments
Strong communication skills ie ability to communicate successes and risks clearly to Senior Management and other project team members
