Oracle DBA, London, Bank, 9i, 10g, 11g, RMAN, RAC, Linux, Shell Scripting, SQL - My client is one other world's premiere financial institutions with a track record of success and growth matched by very few organisations. They are heavily reliant on the technology function to remain ahead of the competition and therefore IT employees are seen as more than just a support function, but integral to the ongoing success of the company. They are big Oracle site, using the RDBMS to run their core business critical functions, from Trading Systems right through to systems in the middle and back office function, and are therefore looking for two highly skilled Oracle Database Administrator to join a tight knit team, with in-depth experience of running large, highly mission-critical, 24*7 systems. Candidates that do not just respond to alerts, but are hugely proactive and hunt down issues before they become major failures. Skills / Experience required includes; Extensive Oracle DBA experience gained within similar types of environments. Oracle 9i, 10g and "ideally" 11g running in Linux / Unix (some sort of exposure to Linux is essential), RMAN Backups, Oracle RAC, OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager), Unix / Linux Shell Scripting, SQL Performance tuning. My client is looking to complete their Oracle Licence and therefore this role will also offer the opportunity to play with lots of new "toys". Previous experience should be gained within Financial Services although big ECommerce, Telco or other highly complex, mission critical arenas would also be suitable.
