SQL Database Support Consultant / DBA - Nottingham, East Midlands. Busy database services consultancy require an experienced support consultant with key skills in SQL and basic Oracle skills to join their expanding team. You will have experience of clustering SQL Server 2005 on NT/ UNIX/ VCS/ VxVM, installation/ configuration of SSRS, SSAS, SSIS . This is a predominantly office-based support role with some customer facing consultancy. You will maintain a high level of DB availability, monitor and improve DB system performance, perform installations, upgrades, backups, restores, create new DBs, create tables, indexes and views, use DTS to import and export data, schedule DTS jobs, migrate DBs, code Shell Scripts performing regular system housekeeping routines, providing technical support and consulting services on most SQL Microsoft and Linux platforms, as standalone systems and integrated HA solutions on most SQL versions. Knowledge of WAN and LAN (fixed link point to point and ISDN), SQL DBA skills, SQL sizing, tuning and installation. It would be advantageous if you were from a high end user or commercial support background, supporting multiple installation and configurations, had worked with SQL in green field installations.
