A successful engineering company is looking for a project manager with experience of software-intensive projects, and some business development experience. You will work on software-intensive project written to safety-critical standards, ensuring that your allocated project portfolio is delivered effectively and profitably by the application of sound project management principles, including;
- Baseline definition
- Project monitoring and control
- Risk management
- Change management
- Acceptance
- Cash flow.
You must manage the external interfaces ensuring the complete satisfaction of the customer, and ensure you maximise profitability. You will also be required to identify skill needs and secure additional personnel resources, build and line manage an effective team ensuring consideration for staff development needs. You will provide internal and external status reporting, and be required to manage risks and issues.
Another element of the role is both new and exisiting client business development: supporting the bid process to secure new/ repeat business, and building strong customer relationships. You will also be expected to negotiate and close business, including contract review.
