The Modelling Systems Engineer will:
-Work closely with the requirements team and the customer/ user to ensure that the program understands the project needs.
-Develop simulation models as good measures of system performance.
-Conduct detailed trade studies.
-Forecast performance of design alternatives and conducts Cost As an Independent Variable (CAIV) analyses.
-Use test data to verify system design.
-Participate in performance-verification efforts.
-Develop and implements model verification plans and procedures.
-Establish strong relationships with the programmes customer, key stakeholders, Subcontractors, and Raytheon US counterparts.
-Ensure that all engineering activities undertaken under their control are conducted to a common standard that reflects best practice, and are in accordance with CMMI as instantiated in RSL IPDS.
-Use Raytheon 6 Sigma proactively to foster a culture of continuous process improvement.
Education and Experience
-Degree in Scientific or Engineering discipline
-Experience of Systems modelling tasks on at least one major programme
-Demonstrable experience in IS design and solution implementation, with significant professional experience as Systems or software -Engineer with full lifecycle coverage
-Experience of NEC, DODAF/ MODAF and UK Government or MOD procurement practices.
-Oracle database, BEA middleware stack (weblogic, aqualogic, data services), Red Hat linux, Java, DOORS, Enterprise Architect
