Responsibilities

• As a senior member of the team you will have a strong developer background
• You will act as a ‘build manager' for complex Oracle based Financial Services Regulatory application written primarily in PL/ SQL .
• Help configure, support, maintain, and extend a multi-project build environment.
• Work both individually and with a diverse and experienced team in a creative and fast-paced environment.
• Producing estimates for and tracking of the code build process
• Create and implement a code deployment strategy.
• Work closely with software development, quality assurance and support teams to ensure high-quality software builds and releases, installation and deployment.
• Provide support and assistance in managing branches and merge conflicts.
• Working with members of the UK Regulatory AD team and the Credit Risk Infrastructure teams to design the future state solution for Regulatory reporting in the UK and EMEA.
• Help to document the existing data architecture environment to produce and maintain an accurate "as is" view of current data environment.
• Creates & maintains Enterprise Data Architecture and guidelines.
• Participate in new release code reviews to ensure alignment with the enterprise data architecture and standards.
• Work with Application Architects and Corporate infrastructure teams to provide common access for all the application databases and enterprise data repositories.
• Identify opportunities for data reuse to reduce asset footprint and costs.
• Develops standards and guidelines for the design of data architectures, data models, tools and databases, including organization, structure and nomenclature of data elements.
• Set formal standards, policies and processes that integrate data architecture considerations and impact assessment into the broader set of Program and Project Management practices.
• Define process and criteria for granting exceptions to the data architecture standards.
• Ensure compliance of corporate policy and standards or appropriate adaptation of standards.

Requirements

• Significant background in full lifecycle development in PL/ SQL is essential
• Technical understanding of development process and key component.
• Ability to diagnose and remedy build failures.
• Technical knowledge of build and code labeling processes.
• Good communications skills allowing candidate to act as liaison between key projects
• Knowledge of full life cycle software development process and software testing methodology
• Experience with Unix Scripting
• Experience with Oracle 10G R2 on Sun Solaris 10 Administration and Configuration
• Knowledge of software configuration, source control, build engineering, scripting, web app deployment, and system administration is required.
• Strong communication skills. Must have the ability to work closely with others on a global multi-location team, facilitate meetings and to interact with both technical and business oriented individuals.

Job responsibilities:

• Manage build / deployment specifically for unit test, System Integration (SIT) and User Testing (UAT) and shared Development environments. Beyond these environments, this role will support controlled releases of code to staging and production environments using IBM rational ClearCase 5.0.

• This role will initiate, track development progress, and report the results of the process for the Oracle development team to the project and Programme management team and Project Management Office.
• Assisting the AD Manager with resourcing and interviewing of developers and performance reviews.

• Training and “Knowledge Transfer “for Off-shore development teams.

• Knowledge of software configuration, source control, build engineering, scripting, web app deployment, and system administration is required.

• 8+ years of software build and release management experience.

• Familiarity with automated build tools (such as ClearCase, Quest TOAD, Unicenter AutoSys Job Management) and ability to work with bespoke scripted deployment systems.

• Must be innovative, resourceful, good communicator, capabile of working under pressure and willing to take initiative.

• 10+ years total related technical experience.

• Experience as a build manager on Oracle bespoke applications in a Financial Services arena, preferably in a Regulatory environment within Investment Banking.
• Coding and solution design experience as a Solution Architect
• Data Modeling experience
• Knowledge of AutoSys
• Knowledge of reporting packages such as Oracle Reports Server
• Provide day to day management and administration of software branching, merging and build processes for all software products and modules.
• Working knowledge of financial settlement systems and instruments: Trading systems - STS ISIS etc; Bonds; Equities and Derivatives
• UK or European Regulatory reporting projects
