Our client is a world leader in communications, data management and optics and supplies products to customers in the defence sector on an international scale. Our client is currently seeking a Systems Engineer to undertake the communication system architect and design activities leading up to bid submission and in some cases then carrying this through to implementation.
Systems Engineer responsibilities:
+ Be able to drive through and create the technical content of proposals in order to win new business in support of the Communications System Business line
+ To understand customer needs and translate to full requirements
+ Produce designs to meet customer requirements and provide support to the engineering Manager to meet scheduled time scales and costs
+ Design system solutions that can be implemented in the agreed scheduled time and costs using the appropriate resources in the company
+ Audit and review the quality and accuracy of and technical content of design work carried out by others on the team in pursuance of the system design goals
+ Provide guidance to team members in order that they may apply themselves more effectively
Systems Engineer experience required:
+ Technically competent in core area of HF and VHF communication systems
+ Extensive experience in engineering on a small-to-medium sized programmes, or a few large programmes
+ Understanding of development life-cycle
+ Fully proficient in the use of all relevant engineering tools
+ Substantial analytical and problem solving ability
+ Good technical communication
Candidates must have, or be eligible to obtain, UK SC security clearance
A salary of £40-45,000 is accompanied by a competitive salary.
