Looking for experienced sales/ business development manager with IC/ semiconductor start-up experience based in Japan or Taiwan. Must have track record of selling semiconductors/ ICs into high volume consumer electronics companies e.g. with digital cameras, wireless accessories, mobile phones

Our pre-IPO client with product already in the marketplace is now looking to hire its first direct business development person in Asia. This person could be based in Japan or Taiwan and should have significant business development/ sales experience within the semiconductor/ IC industry with a track record of closing business within one of these regions.

Candidates with the following background are specifically of interest:
1) Previous start-up experience within the semiconductor/ IC industry at senior sales/ business development level
2) Success of selling into high volume consumer electronics companies OEMs- examples could be within the digital cameras, wireless accessories or mobile phones marketplace

You should have outstanding communication skills, be self-motivated with fluency in English as well as the local dialect. This is a truly outstanding opportunity to join a company that already has had considerable success with its first product and is on the cusp of significant growth.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Directly manage all developing client accounts in Japan through initial design-in, qualification and production; and develop future business.

2. Develop and coordinate customer support activity in Japan.
3. Participate in the development of new project proposals.
4. Develop and manage sales budgets for Japan.
5. Represent the company at various community and/ or business meetings to promote the company.
6. Promote positive relations with partners, vendors and distributors.
7. Frequent travel to the UK to ensure effective communication with the rest of the company.
8. Other duties as assigned.
