I urgently require an experienced Technical Author to work for a well established, highly successful software development company based in Warrington. As the Technical Author you will contribute to the development and ongoing maintenance of the company’s training materials and technical publications. Combining excellent communication skills with technical acumen and a keen eye for detail, you will be involved in all aspects of the documentation lifecycle and work in close collaboration with product experts in the relevant departments of the company. Your technical skills and interests should be sufficient to enable a significant level of self driven content discovery through direct analysis of the software products, in combination with interview of product experts.

The main duties of the Technical Author will be:

• Participate in the development of accurate and high quality technical user publications and training materials to include: user guides, on-line help, technical training materials.
• Determine the documentation requirements through research and analysis.
• Prepare the documentation plan, set project work items and report on project progress.
• Follow corporate documentation guidelines and standards using company templates.
• Contribute proposals and solutions as required, to raise the quality of the documentation and continuously develop standards and best practices.
