UNIX / LINUX ENGINEER - HEDGE FUND - LONDON
Linux / Solaris Engineering, IP-based networking, web services, SAN storage, virtualisation, MySQL or Oracle.
My Client, a world leader in the Hedge Fund Markets, has an urgent requirement for a HIGH LEVEL, WELL ROUNDED UNIX / LINUX ENGINEER.
This will be a HIGHLY CHALLENGING ROLE, suiting someone from a fast paced, mission critical background.
You will have a phenomenal grasp of UNIX / Linux and associated technologies. You are likely to have come from a Systems administration background and worked you way up to an Engineering level with substantial exposure at this level.
You will be responsible for designing leading / bleeding edge solutions for the Linux / UNIX Infrastructure in order to meet the requirements of a range of internal Clients.
You will constantly seek to improve the level of automation and will take responsibility for setting and applying standards.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
• Ideally degree educated.
• A proven track record and relevant experience as a Linux (ideally) or Unix (Solaris) Systems Engineer.
• Experience in complex IT infrastructure design and engineering.
• Advanced knowledge of IP-based networking, web services, SAN storage, virtualisation, server staging.
• MySQL or Oracle experience highly advantageous.
• Has presented technical solutions to a non-technical audience.
• Knowledge and experience in the financial industry are an advantage.
