My financial Client requires an experienced Front-end Web Developer to provide effective support for web-based applications. This role requires a developer with excellent Javascript skills.
Job description:
- Ensuring system availability is maintained during core business working hours
- Ensuring that current project commitments to other parts of the business are met.
- Ensuring business owners and users are kept informed of any requirements to bring down systems for maintenance purposes.
- Where required, undertaking the creation of additional support and application documentation for systems according to set standards and guidelines.
- Ensuring that where possible, all ad hoc reporting work is carried out satisfactorily in accordance with the timetable and specification agreed with the business user.
- Ensuring, where possible, all systems enhancements and bug fixes in both UAT and "live" are undertaken and implemented according to ISD standards and the specification and timetable that has been agreed with the business users.
Skills Required:
• Excellent front-end development skills (XHTML/ CSS) with a solid understanding of web standards
• Excellent Javascript skills
• Good .NET (C#) and SQL skills are a bonus, so are good classic ASP (jscript/ vbscript) skills
• Good understanding of what constitutes accessible and usable websites from a development perspective
• Good understanding of web technologies and trends in general
• Experience of information architecture, accessibility and browser testing, working to tight specifications and deadlines and Photoshop designs provided by 3rd party
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail – including the creation of relevant documentation.
