Role
The Basel II product development team is seeking an experienced technical author to provide customer-facing documentation for the my clients Capital Manager product and its ancillary components. The technical author writes, develops, edits and maintains reference guides, installation guides, user guides, and release notes.


Requirements:
The successful candidate has an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in English, journalism, technical writing, or a related field that requires clear written and oral communication. In addition to being an outstanding writer, the candidate is self-motivated and possesses the discipline and tenacity to solve complex problems, stay current with emerging technical writing standards, and deliver quality documentation.

Minimum criteria
• Strong writing and editing skills with a facility to turn dense technical prose into lucid, well-structured content for product users
• 5 years of experience as a technical author in a software development environment
• Experience using documentation version control
• Close attention to detail, completeness, and accuracy
• Able to work independently and as part of a globally dispersed team
• Able to plan and prioritize multiple projects to meet deadlines
• Experience with Microsoft Office, FrameMaker, AuthorIT, or other professional authoring application

Preferred attributes
• Experience or familiarity with minimalist, topic-based writing, such as information mapping or DITA
• Background in banking, economics, or finance
• Ability to write basic SQL queries or retrieve content from a database
