Oracle and Solaris Manager - Manchester - Lancashire. An outstanding opportunity for an Oracle/ Solaris manager has become available for a candidate with experience in the following - Installing, configuring, troubleshooting, maintaining and securing Solaris and Oracle environments including Solaris 9/ 10 and Veritas Cluster Server and Oracle 9i and 10g.
A good understanding of Sun server hardware and network configuration and support. Use of tools to monitor and maintain Oracle environments such as OEM, TOAD and Spotlight. Ability to identify and tune poorly performing SQL statements. Experience in designing databases for OLTP. Competent in the use of PL / SQL to develop and maintain database stored routine triggers and Experience of UNIX Scripting.
Being Oracle (OCP) or Solaris (SCSA or SCNA) certified would be advantageous as would experience or knowledge of Oracle 11g, Solaris on X86 Blade technologies, supporting Oracle forms and web based applications as well as installing, configuration and administering MS SQL 200/ 03/ 05 Oracle application server.
