This exciting business has one of the most modern facilities in the UK and as part of their continued business expansion; an AS400 Technical Analyst is required to manage the company's AS400 hardware infrastructure. You will have a proven track record in an IBM iSeries Technical Operations environment and proven experience of OS/ 400 and CL, to inc TCP/ IP, FTP & MSOffice. You will be required to work closely with the IT Helpdesk and the AS/ 400 System Development Teams, and there will a requirement for some weekend working for system upgrades and ‘Out of Hours' remote telephone support. The position will be responsible for the effective running of the IBM iSeries AS400 system environment, and tasks will inc PTF installation and operating system upgrades, Data backup configuration and auditing; Hardware upgrade planning and execution; Production of system performance reports and system monitoring; LPAR Management; Capacity planning, Configuration and trouble shooting the iSeries high availability solution (MIMIX. This role will provide further resource to assist both the iSeries Development Team and the Helpdesk Team, and may involve tasks such as Developing user reports using PrintBOS and Query, Client Access and OBDC configuration and assistance with UAT (User Acceptance Testing).
