Exciting opportunities exist for responsive, agile Electrical Drive Engineers who are capable of innovation and creativity to deliver technically advanced solutions which meet customers' expectations on time and to budget.
In the electrical drives business, they are currently designing and developing thyristor, IGBT and GTO based power electronics systems for the offshore, renewables, naval and general industrial markets. Drive powers are typically 1MW to 20MW at 690V to 6600V in motoring, generating or full four-quadrant applications. Engineers are required with skills in power electronics engineering, application engineering and drive control to be based in Rugby, Kidsgrove and Glasgow.
Power Electronics Engineers: required to develop low or medium voltage power electronics hardware solutions, including electrical design, rating and selection of components, system simulation, electro-mechanical packaging and cooling system design.
Drive Control Engineers: Required to develop control systems for power electronics hardware, including software specification and design, system stimulation, real time software implementation in C or function block diagram, software testing and PCB circuit design.
Drive Application Engineers: required to match drive products to specific applications within any of our transformers/ drives/ motors/ generators, application specific control software, cabling specification, commissioning support and customer support.
You will be working in a dynamic multi-disciplined team of over 300 professional engineers, many being Chartered Engineers, in a demanding environment where there is an opportunity for personal professional development. Those qualified to a degree level or considerable experience in the above areas should apply.
