Network Software Engineer
Our client is a communications, systems integration and support company, whose principal capability is in communications, command and control for military purposes. They are a supplier of the VHF and UHF radios and associated networking capability for BOWMAN (the MoD Tactical Communication System). Our client is currently looking for a Network Software Engineer to lead the development and support of software for existing and new communications products within the BOWMAN Integrated Project Team.
Network Software Engineer responsibilities:
+ Team leadership, planning, monitoring and supervision of teams of up to 10 people
+ Software design, implementation and test
+ Problem investigation and software maintenance
+ Support to business development
Network Software Engineer experience required:
+ Hands on experience and team leadership in design implementation and integration of complex real time software systems using C++ in an embedded multiprocessor environment including DSP, Intel i86, PowerPC
+ Development of Government certified secure systems
+ Debug and test from Black Box level to the use of in-circuit emulators to inspect the internal workings of the software on target hardware
+ Leadership of software development in a formal Quality Controlled software environment
+ UNIX/ LINUX application development/ OS Internals
+ IP network and routing protocols
+ Wireless networking protocols and techniques
A salary of £40-45,000 is complemented with a competitive benefits package
