The Background

This leading technology outsourcing organisation with an enviable reputation and market leading status is currently seeking to recruit a Payroll Bureau Assistant Manager to lead and support the day to day management of the outsource team. The team supports clients with payroll queries projects following the implementation of their own Payroll System.


The Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Payroll Bureau Manager, responsibilities will include:

To lead, manage, coach and develop the client facing bureau team to ensure the accurate and timely payment of all clients employees for all group business areas

To manage standard payroll production and to run off cycle, complex or unusual payroll cycles and reports

To assist the implementation teams with payroll systems implementation projects, acting as a ‘payroll specialist’

To support clients daily including basic inquiry and escalation of issues through the web-based portal system or by phone

To ensure that all data produced and supplied to the client is accurate and received on time

To lead and support the day-to-day running and activity of the bureau office


The Professional

The ideal candidate will have experience of people management within a payroll environment. Proficient in payroll systems, you will have an in depth knowledge of payroll legislation including end of year routines. An education to A Level and any payroll certifications would be highly desirable. You will be assertive and able to make decisions quickly, the successful person will have excellent planning and organisation skills and be able to participate in a project team when needed.
