My client, a government organisation situated in London, urgently requires a Network Support Engineer with experience in the support of Cisco networks and networked systems and will ideally have worked in a medium to large end user organisation. Ideally you will have a minimum of a CCNA accreditation. SC security clearance would be preferable.

You will join a team responsible for the support and development of all aspects of the network infrastructure, including data and voice, wide area networks, Internet connectivity and network security. You will provide second line data network support and maintenance of the existing networks.

To be successful in this role you will have the following: IP routing techniques and protocols. Configuration and support of routed networks, with Cisco products, including knowledge of Ciscoworks. Cisco switched architecture including 6500 & 4500 series. Experience of working with Cisco MDS. Ability to undertake Network troubleshooting down to packet level. Wide area network technologies including leased lines, DWDM, LAN Extension and liaison with services suppliers. Internet security technologies and techniques including; firewall configuration and deployment; VPN technologies and products. Cisco Pix, Firewall Service Module and Content Switch Modules would be an advantage.
