You will be part of a team that as well as supporting voice installations also support both Routing, Switching and Security infrastructure. Aspects of these which directly relate to voice (i.e. QoS, basic routing and switching, etc) should already be part of the your skill set, however even though a good understanding of security and advanced routing is desired it is not essential. What is essential is the enthusiasm to learn new skills
and not be limited to only certain technologies.
Ideally you will possess a majority of the following technical skills:
* Cisco LAN/ WAN Design and Implementation
* Cisco Routing / Switching Troubleshooting
* Cisco Voice (Call Manager 4.2, 5.0, 5.1 and 6.0)
* Cisco Voice Gateways
* Cisco Unity and IPFX
* Cisco PIX, ASA, ACS, and VPN Concentrators
* Cisco Wireless (WLSE)
* Checkpoint Firewall Administration
* JetNexus / Alteon Load Balancers
Ideally you will have the following qualifications
* CCNA, CCNP, CCSP, CCVP
Responsibilities: NOC Customer Support
* Provide telephonic and remote support for customers and support contract customers as per processes and customer SLAs
* Respond, create, update and close tickets in the request tracking system as per defined processes
* Provide support to managed serviced customers using management software
* Respond and update the Insight system for problems
* Engage the Professional Services team to help design, plan and implement network solutions
* Pre-configure network equipment for customers' sites as per defined processes
* Create and test network solutions in the lab environment as per defined processes
* Document network solutions and ongoing changes as per defined processes
* Ensure change management is handled as per defined processes
* Ensure configuration updates are handled as per defined processes
* Ensure configuration documentation is created, updated and stored as per defined processes.
* Work closely with the project team leader and Account Manager to keep them updated about project milestones or problems
* Update project plans as appropriate
In-House Network Engineering
* Participate in the development of network solutions for the business
* Implement network solutions as per defined processes
* Respond and update the Insight system for problems internally
* Keep internal network infrastructure ‘up to date' by resolving security issues raised by systems, team leader or senior manager
* Document network solutions and ongoing changes as per defined processes
* Update project plan as appropriate
A salary in the region of £35 -40K + bonus + on-call allowance is available, as is the opportunity to join an organisation where skills development is strongly supported.
