Middle Office Technical Specialist/ Derivative Operations
Leading Investment Bank seeking Middle Office Technical Specialist to work within Derivative Operations Middle Office.
The individual will be required to establish close working relationships, at all levels, with both Front Office and Support Staff (e.g. Credit, Finance, Market Risk, Legal & IT) - allowing for an integrated and proactive approach to the business' requirements, understanding the lifecycles of the products traded and the systems and reporting mechanisms required to enable full control and accurate and appropriate information to be supplied. Responsibilities; An advanced knowledge of the mechanics of all relevant derivative and hedging products,understanding the basic P&L decomposition for all relevant products, Responsible for construction of UAT packs and subsequent escalation and coordination for system enhancements within the Middle Office environment, Maintenance and development of the control environment to minimise losses by eradicating errors and avoiding reputational risk, close liaison with the trading floor to provide immediate operational diagnosis for any trading queries. Seen as valued adviser and technical expert, work closely with other Operation functions and other infrastructure groups to support a ‘one team approach'. Seen as a centre of excellence and pivotal communicator.
