We are looking for clever start-up people with a wide skills base, who would like to be part of an expert team creating something unique and special. Position Purpose
We require a systems administrator to join a highly skilled startup engineering team in the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing solutions to meet our demanding requirements. This position primarily covers Linux systems administration in the production and development environments. This is very much a startup company a wide understanding of technology across the board is very useful.
Experience & Qualifications
·Exposure to a variety of linux distributions. In addition you should have some technical experience of at least one commercial version of UNIX.
·RedHat/ Centos experience, Apache, MySQL, and clustering technologies high desirable.
·Ability to script. BASH, plus some of PHP/ Perl/ Ruby.
·Experience of running a Java based environment is desirable. Resin/ JBoss/ Tomcat containers, GC tuning,ability to understand Java code.
·Understanding of TCP/ IP networking, load balancers, firewalls and switches a plus.
·Some understanding of SAN/ NFS/ iSCSI based storage systems desirable.
·5+ years IT experience
·History of working within a regulatory framework an advantage
·Science Degree and Professional certifications desirable.
