My client requires a Cognos Analyst Programmer and a Senior Cognos Analyst Programmer to join their team on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for analyses and models user requirements, specifies information flows, processes and procedures, data objects and dialogues between systems and their users. You will convert parts of specifications into more detailed designs and translate object and data models into appropriate DB schemas within design constraints. You will construct and modify tests and correct program modules from specifications. You will define software modules that comprise an integration build and ensure they meet software test criteria and produce software builds for loading onto target hardware from software source code. The successful candidate will have experience of Cognos Development tools and proven experience of Cognos v7, Powerplay, Impromptu, Reportnet and Metrics Manager. You will be familiar with database software and writing of SQL. You must also have an awareness of application systems and be familiar with information capture techniques. You must have good desktop software skills especially with MS Office applications. The Senior Analyst Programmer must also have some team leading or management skills.
