Technical Knowledge / Skills Required
Essential
• Senior developer –professional programming experience in Java in a Unix/ Linux environment. Computer Science or similar degree.
• Experience in large scale java enterprise systems development J2SE for high throughput, scalable transactional systems – (critical requirement is for experience of java server side development rather than web sites).
• Preference for working on Unix/ Linux environment including effective performance profiling & tuning; memory debugger knowledge; strong familiarity with the Ant build system, source code control systems, and JMS or TIB messaging.
• Background of working in Front Office IT development team
• A good team worker, with strong communication skills cognizant will a full software development lifecycle.
Beneficial
- Working knowledge of the FIX protocol (versions 4.0; 4.2 and 4.4)
- Experience with direct client connectivity and/ or trading platforms handling Equities.
- Experience with interfacing with Royal Blue products, particularly EMMA
Unique opportunity to work as a contractor in join a cutting-edge Equity IT team with a focus on DMA type projects. Development will cover exchange connectivity layers. There is currently an opening in this area and we are looking for an experienced developer to help drive this effort.
