My client is a global leader in software and processing solutions for financial services.
They are an independent valuation and risk Application Service Provider. Their specialist libraries provide the mathematical models and simulations required to value a range of products from vanilla cash products to complex exotics and hybrid structured instruments.
My client are looking for a Java developer to join their team working on their flagship products. They will be involved in the full software development lifecycle, from design through to implementation, testing, production, and maintenance.
Requirements:
- Education and Qualifications:
Essential – good degree in numerate discipline, preferably software engineering; good numerical intuition; creative problem-solving abilities (Or equivalent)
Preferred – Masters degree; exposure to financial concepts and mathematics (Or equivalent)
- Commercial Experience:
Essential – Experience or equivalent in software development; more than three years commercial Java (v1.5 preferred); JSP, JDBC, Spring, JUnit; multi-threading; development on multiple platforms; experience of full software development lifecycle; OO design and development practices
Preferred – cluster/ grid/ parallel processing; JSF, Hibernate, iBATIS, Ant, Apache Tomcat, Maven, Eclipse; C++/ STL; UML/ Design Patterns; XML; SQL; commercial experience in finance/ banking

• be a software engineer keen to add experience in enterprise risk management and exotic derivatives valuation
• be a team player, keen to learn, enthusiastic and creative about technology and the use of the latest tools and techniques
