SQL Developer
The position is within the Credit Risk System Team. A Senior Sql Server Developer and DBA is required to develop, optimize and support the databases of the monte-carlo simulation based credit risk system.
Main Duties
Role & Responsibilities:
- Refractor, tune & optimise existing software to provide the best platform possible.
- On-going design, development & support of a range of packaged & in-house SQL developed systems.
- Ad-hoc development, troubleshooting & business support.
- Leading, managing small development projects on a day-to-day basis.
- Assist with upgrades & rollout of new software.
- Communicate effectively to all members of IT staff & to business units outside of IT to ensure all parties involved in a project or resolution of a problem are well informed for decision making.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Relavant Degree Education.
- Strong development background in SQL Server 2000 & 2005.
- Tuning & optimisation of SQL Code/ procedures, eg indexes, locking, concurrency issues, primary key, creation of SQL functions, enhancements to DTS packages.
- Documentation writing.
Desirable:
- Strong C++, including C++ templates on Windows Platform
- Background in investment banking.
