Job Description

This exciting opportunity will allow the successful candidate to work with all areas of our client's business; developing reporting and data output methods and analysing company data to deliver real business solutions. Using Transact SQL coding and Crystal reports the post holder will be responsible for the full development lifecycle, liaising with the customer to manage UAT and deploying the changes.

Requirements
•HND in computer systems (including data analysis modules) OR
•MCP Module in SQL Server OR
•Computer systems/ engineering degree
•Commercial experience required, extent of which is dependant on qualifications gained
•Retail sector experience desirable

Responsibilities
•Performs systems analysis to ensure data integrity is being maintained
•Performs standard database maintenance/ administration tasks
•Develops operational and management reports to assist key business decisions
•Develops data interfaces to transform and pass data between Company systems
•Develops data delivery layer of internally developed applications
•Carries out QC and testing tasks to support data system delivery Performs requirement capture for data delivery tasks
•Liaises with 3rd party supplier support teams to resolve system issues
•Provides 2nd and 3rd line support service to Company IT helpdesk for Company data systems
Some out of hours (evening and weekend) work will be required for certain scheduled maintenance and support tasks as well as to resolve critical incidents. It is expected that the crew member will be able to show commitment to the business at these times.
The Individual

•Thorough knowledge of SQL Server Transact SQL 2000/ 2005, Crystal Reports and Data Analysis
•Some knowledge of: Oracle SQL scripting, Microsoft Office 2003, Database Design Principles, SQL Server 2000/ 2005 database administration and full development life cycle principles (inc requirements capture, specification production and testing)
•Highly Numeric with an analytic and methodical approach to tasks
•Actively enjoys interacting with the business and internal customers
•Good problem solving skills
•Confident in taking ownership
•Self motivated with a pro active attitude
