Ruby-on-Rails Developer? Are you a Ruby-on-Rails evangelist, with a passion for the Ruby-on-rails Community? Would you like to join the firm with the highest concentration of influential developers in the Ruby Community in London? Are you excited about creating apps that help people and make money? Agile/BDD conversant?

This Social Media firm is so well known in the Ruby Community, you'll half join because you're keen on its diverse product portfolio and half because you'll enjoy:

-Going on company-sponsored hacking weeks with other like minded, passionate Ruby Developers and brainstorming a new product. No PMs, no QA just Development Product Owners.

-Taking a day a week to scratch your creative itch and work outside your set of projects, on something of your own volition, with 2 criteria - either code something that will benefit the company, or something that will contribute to the Rails community as a whole.

-Continuous deployment and a true agile environment

-True product ownership, meaning no PMs, BAs or QAs, you own the full life cycle on your projects.

-Creating code that you'll love producing and that will inspire your colleagues, both Junior and peer-level.

If this sounds like you and you're keen on exploring new opportunities, you'll likely be a senior candidate who has been about in the Ruby Community for a while, have a constant urge to produce new and valuable code and will possibly have previously been a Senior Developer in a team or a CTO at a start up that wants to move back into hands on code as a focus (but still mentor juniors). There are, of course, no prejudgements, as long as your code and ideas are strong and you feel confident in having coded at the senior level, do send in your CV.

Fundamentally, these guys are looking for anyone from the Ruby on Rails community with strong evidence of the following:

1.Energetic, enthusiastic and full of bright ideas.

2.A complete passion for Ruby on Rails. For their graduate positions we ask you to show evidence of spending every spare second working on Rails projects (final year projects or side projects definitely qualify here). For senior positions they need you to have worked for a minimum of 2 years in a commercial Ruby on Rails role. Your contributions to open source projects or private projects will gain you extra points.

3.You should have had exposure to working within a commercial Agile environment. That means you must be:

a.an advocate of Test Driven Development and experienced at practicing it

b.used to the benefits of working in a pairs

c.believe in small incremental changes with immediate results.

Lastly, to give you a flavour of some of their technical stack, they use:

Redis, Starling, Memcached, Airbrake, Solr/Lucene, Cruisecontrol, Selenium, Chef, Git.

Please do get in touch, as we are the hirers of choice for 15 Ruby houses around London and the South East, and can find new opportunities based on your development ability and requirements.
