To deliver the best possible service for the public we can’t be swayed by our instincts.

Instead, no matter what our individual roles, we must stay objective in even the most emotionally-charged of situations.

You’ll draw on your in-depth knowledge of data protection to help ensure justice is delivered. In fact, you’ll be the team’s expert as you take responsibility for day-to-day responses to requests within the statutory timescales set out in the Data Protection Act and Freedom of Information Act.

A skilled practitioner, you’ll advise CPS managers and the public in all aspects of Information Management, including the Freedom of Information Act and Data Protection principles. You’ll also help with investigations by the Information Commissioner into CPS handling of requests.

You should have a thorough grasp of the FOI Act and the practical application of National and European data protection laws and practices, including a good understanding of the General Data Protection Regulation.

Management experience is necessary as you’ll be managing three Senior Information Management Advisors who have their own teams. They’ll look to you for guidance in meeting targets, maintaining quality and taking action to ensure both.
