Be part of the team that helps tens of millions of people get around London every year.

Transport for London (TfL) is one of the most recognised and respected brands on the planet. Indeed, hundreds of millions of people the world over are familiar with our rich heritage and iconic personality, while our influence can be seen and heard on a daily basis all over the capital and beyond.

TfL is responsible for around 580km of major highways and red routes throughout the various boroughs that make up the capital. We now have an opportunity available for an experienced Consents Lead, to help us secure permissions from those boroughs whenever we need to build new routes, or improve and maintain existing ones.

We’ll rely on your expertise to help us put the appropriate statutory approvals, legal agreements and consents in place - and you’ll play a key part in ensuring that our major infrastructure programmes continue to run on time and budget, and that London keeps on moving throughout.

The role presents a unique challenge and promises great exposure on a range of major projects, as well as in-depth interaction with engineers and many other disciplines and functions, both within TfL and beyond.

To rise to the challenge, you’ll need a proven track record in delivering large highway infrastructure projects, together with an extensive knowledge of highways and traffic laws applicable to highway projects, preferably acquired within a local authority environment. An excellent communicator, your diplomatic skills will help you negotiate the processes (and politics) involved in dealing with local authorities, external agencies and third parties, as the role will require you to liaise extensively with many different boroughs, external agencies and other third parties to successfully deliver our ongoing projects.

Experience of acquiring consents for other infrastructure projects where permissions and legal agreements need to be in place between multiple parties is desirable, as is the ability to show leadership across a diverse portfolio of projects.

Take up the challenge and not only will you be part of one of the country’s most respected brands and make your mark within a highly professional team, you’ll also be able to grow and develop your career like never before.
