Job Purpose - Application development, or selection, ensuring developments or enhancements meet business and technical requirements and to agreed time scales and quality criteria.

Application maintenance and support.

Main Activities

-Designs moderatey complex programs and/or program modifications to meet supplied functional and technical specifications.

-Writes program specifications.

-Develops or amends code as documented in the design.

-Unit tests and bug fixes code.

-Maintains and supports systems.

-Provides support outside of normal working hours in line with the Company On-Call Policy.

-May take part in business requirement analysis, producing functional and system test specifications and undertake systems testing.

Experience

Mandatory

-Relevant application development experience working as part of a team developing complex business systems.

Desirable

-Experience in the insurance, retail or retail financial services sectors.

-Experience of a multi-channel approach to product delivery

Skills

Mandatory

-Experience in SQL Server (2005 or later)

-Experience in .Net web application development using C# or VB
