ERP Technical Support Consultant

Sage X3 Support team is made up of application and developer support consultants, responsible for 2nd and 3rd line support of all modules in X3. We currently support both direct customers and Business Partners on X3 Premium edition. With the introduction of Sage ERP X3 Standard edition to the UK portfolio we are investing in the support team and increasing the headcount to assist with testing and then supporting the X3 Standard edition.

Sage ERP X3 is our global ERP solution. It is a powerful, easy to use and quick to deploy ERP solution. It is ideal for medium and large businesses with international operations looking to streamline operations and increase business understanding.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for two Technical Support Consultants, supporting X3 business partners and customers in their usage and customisation of the X3 product. The role will initially report into the Development department where training will be provided and you will have the opportunity to help test product prior to release, before moving across to work as a technical support consultant.

Responsibilities include assisting the business partners or customer with the resolution of their software problems. This will involve testing the problem, assisting with customisation advice, and arranging the delivery of defect fixes. You'll take ownership of the problem until a mutually satisfactory resolution is obtained. You will also be required to respond to business partners and customer queries within designated time scales.

Further responsibilities will include testing product, including suspected defects and providing full details to the Development department for correction and subsequently testing any fixes. This should all be completed in line with QMS guidelines. You'll also be included in any ad hoc projects which may arise. For example, site visits, involvement in new helpdesk software, improvements to the working practices of the Support department. You'll also be required to attend customer meetings, or to be part of customer visits.

We're looking for a motivated, enthusiastic individual, who has experience in a customer support environment or technical experience in an applicable ERP package and experience of appropriate database/ operating systems: MS Windows, SQL server with a basic knowledge of SQL. Some experience of VB.NET, C# or other OO programming language would also be an advantage. Experience of testing is preferential. We will welcome all applicants with relevant technical experience or a computing degree.

You'll have excellent customer service skills, a professional telephone manner and the ability to prioritise workloads effectively and work under pressure. It is also important that you have an aptitude for logical problem solving and can demonstrate a willingness to assist team members.
