Help shape the fire service of today and tomorrow

• Provide guidance, training and administrative support

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service is the second largest fire service in the country, covering nearly 500 square miles, with a population of over 2.5 million people. Within that area we have 41 fire stations and around 2,400 staff, and right at the heart of everything is our main headquarters, based in Swinton.

Our new Corporate Planning and Performance Directorate is looking for a Corporate Project Officer. A confident, self-motivated individual who can join our team and help influence and implement our new ways of working. You’ll be the kind of proactive professional who can make an impact on the team right from day one.

You will need:

• Proven experience working in a project support/ delivery environment
• An understanding of project management processes and the associated documentation required
• PRINCE2 or equivalent qualification
• Proven experience of project management, including day-to-day admin, budgets, meetings, and reviews
• Proven record of agenda preparation, recording of minutes, and the implementation and achievement of key meeting actions
• Ability to build relationships quickly and work well under pressure
• Experience working on simultaneous projects with overlapping timescales
• Ability to influence at all levels, in every direction, both internally and externally.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work on your own initiative, organise workload and time manage effectively
• Ability to prioritise tasks in line with GMFRS requirements
• Credibility, an outgoing personality and a hardworking ethic

You will be working in a fast-moving, pressurised environment where experience and cooperation really matter. But more than that, you will be making a real difference to the safety of the communities within Greater Manchester.
