The University of Portsmouth is seeking an experienced IT service delivery professional to join the Service Delivery Group within its Information Services Department (IS). The successful candidate will join a group of five Service Delivery Managers (SDMs) who between them provide service management and support to the five university faculties and our central departments.
The post holder will provide a vital link between IS and its customers and will be expected to engage at all levels to ensure that day-to-day IT services and support are well provided, and that these services are understood and managed effectively. The successful candidate will build strong relationships with faculties/ departments, understand their role and be closely involved in developing future plans and understand where IS can contribute.
The SDM will line manage a team of people who will have a mix of technical and service management skills. It is expected that SDMs will move between customer groups depending on need. The successful candidate will be expected to have experience of delivering IT services in a complex organisation, ideally using the ITIL framework.
