Software Engineer- Customer Information Systems - West London

As part of the development support team, a developer is responsible for the creation, maintenance and support of new and existing interactive, mobile and web applications and related systems. These will include software developed by other teams within CIS, or 3rd parties for BSkyB.
This includes the creation and support of applications to new and existing platforms in a timely and business responsive manner, in some instances both in-house and 3rd party development teams may be used for the delivery of these applications.
Key responsibilities·
- Working as part of a highly productive team sharing responsibilities and knowledge constantly
- Delivery of software in accordance with defined coding standards and industry best practice
- Work with testers to ensure acceptance criteria are satisfied
- Ensure that application design and development standards and processes are implemented on all appropriate activities and contribute actively to their continuous improvement
- Resolution of defects during the full product lifecycle
- Work with Product owners, analysts and key stakeholders to define and design requirements
- Identification of issues, risks, dependencies and blockers, escalating to manager where appropriate
Technical skills:
- iTV technologies (e.g. OpenTV SDK. Open Author, WML / WtvML . or other C based languages)
- Web Languages & Technologies (e.g. HTML, CSS, ASP, Java, C#, Java Script, Grails, jQuery, PHP, Ajax, XML & XSLT).
- Experience of Sky STB functionality
- Experience of authoring tools (e.g. flash or Director)
- Photoshop
