PHP Web / Application Developer
Location: Harrogate, Yorkshire
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000
My client is a successful, fast growing digital agency looking to recruit an enthusiastic PHP Web / Application Developer to join their team. As a full service digital agency they provide their clients with a winning mix of business, marketing, creative and technical expertise. They work with a wide variety of clients including Marks and Spencers, Hi-Tec Sports, Pepsi, PING Europe, Burger King, Lindam, Bradford Theatres, Rolawn, QHotels, Gosim plus many more.
This is a development role, and the successful candidate must be able to build dynamic websites and applications using the LAMP stack. My client is looking for a lot of experience, and would expect you to have dealt with tight deadlines and complex projects on a regular basis.
Responsibilities:
Technical - you will need a good understanding of PHP, MySQL and MVC frameworks such as Zend Framework or CodeIgniter. The client would also expect you to have a healthy knowledge of xHTML, CSS, AJAX, JQuery and other similar technologies.
Quality their whole philosophy is based on developing websites and applications that show their clients a substantial return on investment and this is only achieved through excellence. You must be committed to rolling your sleeves up and putting real energy into every project.
Organisation - it goes without saying that the successful candidate must be organised. Dealing with numerous large simultaneous projects in varying teams, whilst liaising with different project managers, makes it essential. Each project will have difficulties and deadlines and all have to be well managed.
Environment - the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. The whole team gets on well despite the fast paced jobs and accompanying pressure. They are looking for someone who can blend the required urgency with a sense of calm, making for a smooth ride with colleagues and clients.
Transport The company is based on the outskirts of Harrogate so a car and driving license isn't essential but would be useful.
Experience - At least 2-3 years commercial experience in PHP and MySQL, and at least 6-12 months commercial experience in MVC frameworks is essential. Ideally you will have been working in an agency environment working with large clients, used to tight deadlines and working to schedule and budget, although this is not essential.
