COMMUNICATIONS ADMINISTRATOR
BLACKBERRY NETWORK OPERATIONS CENTRE

POSITION SUMMARY

The NOC Communications Administrator will be responsible for the 24x7, real-time communications surrounding BlackBerry network incident and maintenance activities. The Network Operations Centre (NOC) Communications team works closely with the Global Network Operations Centres, Carrier Service Management, and Premier Customer Support teams to ensure that planned and unplanned network events are effectively communicated to stakeholders.

Stakeholders include both RIM internal groups and external Carrier Partners and Enterprise customers.

Responsibilities will include:
• Primary point of contact for written and verbal real-time communications from the BlackBerry Network Operations Centre (NOC) during unscheduled network events
• Timely distribution of required information to internal and external stakeholders
• Responsible for preparing communications and reporting on scheduled and unscheduled BlackBerry Network Events
• Ensure suitability and congruence of external communications with published standards
• Assist with ongoing stakeholder analysis to determine communication gaps and opportunities for improvement
• Assist in development of proper documentation and support procedures for all NOC Communications efforts
Skills & Experience required include:
• Must possess excellent verbal and written English-language communication skills
• Technical interest and aptitude (e.g. Internet, networking, computers, etc.)
• Front-line customer service experience (face-to-face or telephone)
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail is essential
• Good working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Must be able to work 8 and 12-hour rotating shifts (including nights, weekends, and statutory holidays) as a requirement of this position
